Julie and Kirk Thomas of Freedom, Maine had a great day fishing for landlocked salmon on July 14, 2023 on a large Franklin County lake east of Oquossoc. Each earned a “Catch and Release” Club patch for their efforts. Julie’s salmon weighed 6.5 lbs, and was 27.25″. Kirk’s fish was 6.4 lbs, and 28.25″ long. The anglers were fishing with spoons, and within an incredible 90-minute stretch, they caught and released these and several other fish over 5 lbs.
